Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born into an Punjabi muslim family and his family was already artistic of music.They adopted music as their profession.Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan first performed on stage when he was only 15 years old.He was announced a head of their family Qawali.Initially,his father was not ready to send him into the music profession but he wanted him to choose a more respectable career like an doctor or engineer but who knew that this boy will give a new history to Qawwali.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan first came to limelight after his hit was Haq Ali Ali which was sung in traditional style.After getting prominence in Pakistan,Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was invited abroad to perform his events and he has also showed his appearance in Paris,Japan,London and many more countries which got him much recognition.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was referred as Shahenshah e Qawwali which means the king of the kings of Qawwali.He is considered by The New York Times to be the greatest Sufi singer in the Punjabi and Urdu languages and one of the greatest qawwali singers in history.No one would have imagined that a Punjabi ordinary boy will set a history in the world of music.Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is still listened by people no matter what generation is going on.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was the name of this grandson of the Patiala family who migrated from Jalandhar, India before the formation of Pakistan.
But this was a time when no one knew Nusrat. Yes, everyone knew that he was the son of the famous Qawwal Ustad Fateh Ali Khan of that time.
Unfortunately Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan passed away due to cardiac arrest because his weight was increased a few months before his demise and he was seriously ill at that time.He passed away on 16th august 1997 at the age of 48.Just imagine what he would have done till now If he was alive at the time.
